All residential agreements at the village are for 40 weeks (minimal amounts of 20 week agreements) so it is anticipated that it is every resident's intention to honour that agreement.

However, events do occur resulting in residents wishing to vacate their rooms. The Village administration will help residents to find a person to take over their agreement, but until that is done the resident must continue paying weekly fees.

Providing this service comes at a cost and is disruptive to the Village community. A contract termination fee is charged which is equivalent to 2 weeks occupancy fee, if the termination is subsequent to taking up physical occupancy of a room, or is after 1st of February. Residential agreements signed and subsequently terminated before the start of the contract of the new year incur a one week charge.

The contract termination fee does not apply to university undergraduates commencing their first year of study if termination is in within a couple of days of the UAI results released of their first year.
